The "Towada Art Museum" created by artist Rei Naito and architect Ryue Nishizawa is set to be built on a small hill overlooking the Seto Inland Sea in the area called Karato on Toshima Island. Abandoned rice paddies have been revitalized together with local residents, and at one corner of the vast land, a building shaped like a water droplet has been installed. It features a concrete shell structure with an area of approximately 40×60 meters and a maximum height of 4.3 meters, and it contains no columns. Two openings in the ceiling allow the surrounding wind, sound, and light to flow directly into the interior, creating an organic space where nature and the building respond to each other. Inside, a "spring" is born throughout the day. This landscape communicates an infinite variety of expressions with the changing seasons and the passage of time.

Forest of Whispers
Closed due to rain
10:30 - 16:30 / Outdoor works
Approximately 5.5 km / About 25-30 minutes by electric bicycle to Karitooka parking lot
About 1.1 km from the parking lot, approximately 20 minutes on foot
(Bicycles and scooters are prohibited due to mountain paths.)
In the forest located on the slopes of Toyoshima and Danyama, 400 wind chimes sway in the breeze, creating a serene sound installation.
On the papers attached to the wind chimes, the names of loved ones of those who have visited before are inscribed. The sound swaying in the wind evokes the mystery of the soul, memorializing unknown individuals and expressing the strength and transience of human existence.
Viewers can leave the names of their own loved ones anew. Later, the names will be engraved on the paper (plate) as they are written, becoming a part of the artwork and beginning to sway in the wind.
